Fly Tying Tools I Made

Recommended Posts

These are some other things I made. Design credits go to, Vossler for the Vossler tool, Oasis for some the wood stuff, and Pat Cohen for the fugley hair packer. I made my packer out of stainless not mild steel. The fly dryer rotators are my design. The black and white ones are powder coated. 5 rpm ac motors, with on/off switches. Note: That is a rite bobbin by the fugly packer. I did not make it. I only put it in the picture for scale. I only made the packer.

This is my main station I made. Nothing special. I made the vise too. See my post "Vises I made" for details.

I love that krystal flash rack...how exactly does it keep the zip ties in place? Sort of a rubber grommit that goes around the wheel? My biggest pet peeve right now with storing supplies is krystal flash. For now I took some stove wire and made loops that I have hung at my desk.I then place the zip ties through the loop one onto of each other so they all hang down the left side and are easily at hand.

bass mouth, you can get a rack like this easilly from cabelas and other companies. Oasis makes it I think. I used big silicon o'rings to retain the material. I think it is what they use too.

I have seen a few around the local flies shops but they are always pretty pricey. I have a few other things on my want list before I get to the krystal flash or thread caddys. Perhaps one day if I feel adventurous I will give building one a try.
