Sliders

Recommended Posts

Ive been tying quite a bit lately for a trip Im going on (leave tomorrow). Finally got around to taking some pictures to post up. Ill start a couple topics to separate them a bit. These sliders are some of my custom "predator poppers" basically turned around for a sliding action. If you have questions about the construction..ask! Id be happy to explain. Enjoy.

I am always interested in the making details.

Hey ditz:

These are a foam popper/slider I make from a 2 part expanding foam. It is seriously strong stuff. I can hit the head of it with a hammer and not cause much damage. Sometimes just a crack. The through wire is a piece of 90lb surflon wire. In order to do make the heads I carved a "proto-type" have you will, made a mold, and now I just pour!

Painting is pretty easy. The bait painters at the shop I sell at usually do it for me. The particular ones I did some with a spray can and they did some of the details with the air brush.

This is one I use when spearing and big sandeels are around.....it's a Crease Slider I developed and works at night or when fish are hitting on top.
