Foam Body Cutters

I'd like to try the River Road Creations (http://www.riverroadcreations.com/) foam body cutters out, specifically for cutting foam hopper bodies. Wondering what is the most useful, the Chernobyl body cutter or Beavertail? Any comments are greatly appreciated.

Personally I would not bother with either, but the Chernobyl shape is easy to achieve with scissors or a razor blade by just lopping off the corners, where as the beavertail shape is nearly impossible to duplicate without a custom cutter of some type. Just a thought...

These cutters are the only way your fly will look consistent and professional. River Road Creations are great folks.

I have both the chernobyl and the beavertail. I use the chernobyl more often. but then again the flies i have been tying most often use the chernobyl shape rather than the beavertail.

I use the hopper body and hopper leg cutters quite a lot and the leg cutter is fantastic. As Sore Eyes said, you get a professional and repeatable appearance using the cutters.
