Northern Maine

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

These were taken on a camping trip to Northen Maine last June. It does not get much better than this, native brookies surrounded by these beautiful mountains.

Where were the pics taken? Looks like Baxter Park maybe? I used to live in Caribou... Baxter was "down south" to us.

good eye, it is baxter. i grew up in cumberland county, southern maine, so the park was still a 4 hour drive north for us. hence "northern" maine

LOL, I've lived in some f--ed up places... Aroostook county was one. Good hunting, so-so fishing, 3 names in the phone book.

Spent a week fishing the Kennebec River. Beautiful state. Locals told me they don't stay there in the winter, too much snow & cold.

Of course, had to make a trip to Freeport one day, and wandered around LL Bean's main store. Great fly shop.

Acacia NP was awesome. On top of Cadillac Mountain you could see forever.

Very nice pictures. Good visual impact.

The views look beautiful. If it didn't get so cold up there ...

Pretty place, but I wouldn't want to live there.
