Large/Small Trout swap

Recommended Posts

About a year ago we did a small trout fly swap, I would like to do this again with a small varation. The idea for this swap is to tie any Large (12+) fly for trout of your choice and any small (≤18) fly. This could be your favorite hopper dropper setup, favorite 2 nymph rig or two others of choice that meet the criteria. Basic swap rules apply - tie flies (1 large/1 small) for each participant except yourself, toe tag each fly and send with return postage paid envelope. Flies are to be to the SM by the due date not shipped on the due date. I'm hoping for 12 participants. Due date of the flies would be April 15th.

SWAP FULL!!!!

SM - jfinn - Large = hippie stomper/ small = rainbow warrior

I'll give it a go. Don't know if it's what I'll do but large fly on top suspending a small nymph underneath is a good setup.

I'd like to play - foam something and a soft hackle.

My foam fly will be a Chubby Chernobyl.

I'm in Jfinn and It's my first swap.

I just did 12 dry flies size 18 thinking that was for 15 of March lol.

Tail a few fibers of natural deer hair

Body red CDC

Hackle grizzly and red

I love this one for the times that trout don't know what the want to eat.

I'm not sure if I should use size 10 or 12 for the stoneflies I really don't like big hooks I have time to think.

I have a question how I know the address of the SM

Like I'm new I don't know what means with toe tag I'm lost in translation lol.

Thank you for the clarification and patience.

The SM will send you his address via private message either when the sawp starts or when you are ready for it. The toe tag is simply a piece of paper with your board name on it attached to the bend of the hook.

This swap looks great, can't wait to see you guys' flies

i'm in

sounds like a good old dry/dropper swap to me

balloon caddis / brassie

Similar idea just didn't want to limit it to dry/dropper feel free to tie 2- drys, 2- wet whatever you feel as long as the hook sizes meet the criteria.
