Simple Streamer

Recommended Posts

This fly is really simple and easy to tie. Beginner tiers will have no problem tying these, and seasoned tiers can tie 20+ of these in an hour. It is a great fly for fishing streams and rivers for trout, and also would work for crappie, bass and other lake fish. This even could work for some smaller saltwater species when using a saltwater approved hook.

Hook: Umpqua U301 - size 12
Thread: UTC 140 - color brown
Tail/Wing: Blood Quill Marabou - Brown
Body Wrap: Tinsel Twist
Eye: 3D eyes - gold, 3mm
Eye attachment: Krazy Glue
Head Building: Solarez UV curing resin "Thin Hard Formula"
Head finishing: Solarez UV curing resin "Bone Dry"

I haven't been able to embed a video in here for a year at least, just a link.. But I think it's my browser, Firefox using the Bing search ..

but here I took the s out of HTTPS copying the link from the browser window not off the video screen.

Great looking pattern, Excellent video. Lot of potential to mix up colors. Could see it working as an all white pattern with a silver or pearl body. Mix of olive, brown and orange for a small crayfish. I use CCG, while it lasts, or Bug Bond for my heads. Since they initially dry tacky I touch them up with MOP transfer foil to add a bit of color and shine to it.

You know, I did that as well, I tried the embed thing, I tried the browser link, and the "share" option. I removed the S in the https as well. Never seemed to work. Thanks for the help Dave...

Yeah I see potential as well for other colors. Its quick and easy, and very simple. Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I like the Solarez UV curing resin because it doesn't cure tacky at all, and its quick and easy. But anything could work that you are used to using.

I copied the address right off the address bar at the top of the page. I don't "take the s off of https" or anything. straight copy and paste.

Below is what it looks like before I hit "post", except the asterisks, which I put on there to keep it from being the video.

FWIW, as I mentioned, it doesn't usually work for me either, just happened to this time. And again I think it's my browser combo generally. If I really want something to post I change to Yahoo or Google but mostly can't be bothered. I figure people are capable enough to search out videos and instruction on their dream flies.

Tests, all with Windows 10, Chrome browser (latest 64 bit)

Result for today: Straight paste seems to embed the video. Link feature does not.

1. Straight paste of youtube url:

text pasted, "

"

2. Using "Link" feature and pasting same url into Link field in dialog box.

I'll try it once more leaving the S in this time, this is Windows 7, Firefox and Bing search and copying the url from the search window with the video running:

Ok thats weird. I ended up putting the link in twice, one with, and one without the S. The one without the S showed up this time even though its what I had last time. HAHA I didnt add that, I just left it and put the one with the S. But only one works, and its the one that was there all yesterday that wasn't working. Im confused now.

When I clicked on your original link and let the video run and looked up in the search window it read with the S, yesterday I took the S out , today I left it in and both pasted with the video showing. Ok so now I have done a Bing search separate from your link and found your video, here is how it post using the same technique only not launched from your FTF post: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=mcfly+lure+simple+streamer+video&view=detail&mid=C9DD7E3AA6074DD244D3C9DD7E3AA6074DD244D3&FORM=VIRE

And now from Yahoo: https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=sfp&hsimp=yhs-001&hspart=mozilla&p=mcfly+simple+streamer+video+yuoutube#id=1&vid=df76e2b8c78e9e5a82940753a6117302&action=click

Why not just go to his channel on YouTube and copy and paste from there. Why mess around with a big search???
