I make worms like that too. I add a tail made of craft foam to make the tail stand up on some of them for fishing real slow on the bottom. Makes the tail have a little action when resting. Just food for thought.

I'm gonna get some HobLob sued and razor blade. I'm not mass production. I thought it was something water resistant. I.e. Won't dry hard. Tried felt on my turtles didn't work well....thin foam has no action and is not very tough.

First attempt at this style wing and it has problems, but I think it's still a cool looking fly. smile.png

Bumble-pop mini on a size 8 z-steel hook. I tied a dozen up in various colors.

A Danish seatrout fly; seems to share some genetic code with Whillock's Whiskey Fly.

 

hook - Mustad 9671 #6

thread - Danville 6/0 black

rib - Uni-Stretch orange

body - tinsel silver

hackle - hen orange

wing - grey squirrel tail (fox squirrel could also be used)

Haven't tied any tricos in a bit, so here's a couple of sunken trico spinners. One male one female. Wire body, fluro fiber wing, white micro fibbets tails. Size 24.

Not a bad fly!Those ranger style salmons can be a pain in the full wing.The key to setting them is having them perfectly match which is going to come from a very high quality bird.Jc and toppings look good as well as your flies and body work!
