ALL perfect examples of thoughtless actions. Perfect examples of lack of courtesy. None of those show careful calculation, sudden calculation or even adding 2 + 2.

Of course we're all selfish at times. No one would be happy without a little self gratification.

But we also have to put up with others, and that SHOULD engender courtesy.

Lack of courtesy is a choice. I hate people who've made that choice.

it seems the rant was directed at my posts. I have NO issues with that at all. On top of not wanting to hate I also respect all opinions regardless if they agree or are in opposition to mine. Trust me, I have felt the hate from others with different opinions just because their opinion differs from mine. I just go about my business with no concern over who wants to hate on me. Hate if you like, I just have a different opinion. My opinion is it's very difficult to hate on people and life is far more enjoyable free of hate and bitterness. The opinions of others maybe different.

 

I think it's geographical. I live in the shadows of Philadelphia, just a few miles from its border. I have lived here for decades and travel into not only Philadelphia but north jersey and NYC frequently. Most assuredly I have come to accept or not pay any attention to certain actions more then other folks. Not saying a enjoy driving in these places, I just find it more tolerable free of hate. I will say I have driven all over Michigan and spent many recent years doing so. I find Michigan drivers to be about as courteous as I have ever seen. Even in Detroit rush hour, which really is an hour and pales in comparrision to the rush hours and hours and hours that I'm familiar with, the surrounding motorist were quite calm and respectful. This is of course in comparison to what is the norm to me and has been for the 41 years of my driving life.

Not a rant and not directed directly towards anyone, how many times do I have to say that. Was just my opinion directed to anyone that feels they need to tell me what I should feel.

 

I've lived here in Michigan 7 miles North of Detroit my entire 48 yr life. To say that rush hour here is only an hour and that drivers here are courtesy? Sorry but that is not only untrue but that is flat out laughable. Rush hour here now a days is about 2:30 till 6:30 and there is zero courtesy no matter if it is on I75/696 or Woodward or even on any of the mile roads so I have no clue how you can even suggest that. If you are talking North of Bay City then up North is a lot better, but anywhere South of Bay City and that is not even close to being accurate.

 

I honestly don't care if you or anyone wants to say you don't hate people, that's great good for you. But stop trying to make it sound like people that say they hate people are some how having to "work" at it or somehow live such a dark terrible life.. Because if that's what you think then you are confused. I will and do say I hate people, I don't hide it and never will. I think it's better to be open & honest than to lie and act like man-kind is so great so I don't cover my feelings at all. I have very little tolerance for stupidity these days so that's why I say I hate people. Yet it DOES NOT mean I work at it or let it impact my life in a negative manner, quite the contrary, when I see someone doing something stupid I simply think "idiot, that's why I hate people" and go on about my life in a very happy manner.

 

I'm not gonna keep going on wasting time on this, for you all that embrace these idiots of the world with a smile on your face, good for you. I will not interact with those same idiots because I hate people, and guess what, I'll do it with just as big a smile on my face and be just as happy as the rest of you.

Id love to be able to escape the stupidity of 21st century America (really everywhere as Im sure its the same all over) but I dont see how its really possible, short of total isolation. I dont hate people but Id be much happier if there werent so many of them around all the time. Dealing with all the stupidity in the world and getting angry or whatever about it is whats burdensome. Thats what I hate.

 

Also, I dont think anyone in the thread who says they *dont* hate people are saying anyone else is wrong. I thought this whole thing was a discussion. Is there no point in discussing opinions?

I'm sorry I even brought this thread back up. My intention was simply to state my opinion and how I view things. I'll keep my mouth shut and any of my opinions to myself from now on.

Okay few things and then this has ran its course.

 

dadofmolly as I said earlier my reply was not to you. It was in fact to some earlier replies even far back as months ago and some more recent by a couple people just in general, as well as in reply to some PM's to me which I did not care for. So there is no need to not reply or use the site. You didn't really do anything wrong.

 

Secondly, people are different, some people feel one way and others the opposite, doesn't mean one is good and one bad, just have to deal with it and move on. No biggie.

 

And lastly, that's about all that need be said. Closed down because it's pretty much ran its course, no winners no losers just opinions posted and time to move on now.
