Spencer’s Moose Hair Muddler SBS

Found this in the Bend Bulletin. Simplicity in itself, although you want to keep the wing/head sparse; if you've never spun moose hair you're in for a treat. Change color/size to suit your needs.

 

 

hook - Maruto 2312 #6

thread - UTC 140 black

body - Congo Hair purple

wing/head - moose body hair

 

 

mash barb/start thread; fold over a hank of CH, tie in, wrap to bend

twist the CH, wrap to tie in; tie off, untwist, trim

clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of moose body hair; trim, spin the bobbin to tighten up the thread, take 2 soft loops, spin the moose hair (it may need a little assistance)

stroke the head back, half hitch x 2, SHHAN
