Storing hares dubbing

I was wondering if most store hares mask and ears whole and trim it as you use it or do you shave it all off and get rid of the hide ? Seems that if you shave off it will take up a lot less space . But wanted others option. Thanks

My masks I leave whole. This way I can pull it off of where I want to pull it off.

I keep mine on the mask per poopdeck, but have considered trying the Barry Clarke method. I just never tie so many that I need that much.

I leave them whole and pluck as needed.

I cut it off and blend it so it's ready to use, leaving a small amount on the skin for tails etc. Some of it gets mixed with antron or other synthetics.

i leave the mask in the original packaging use it as needed

I'm not, but that's OK. i don't like having to shear off small bits every time I use it.

Hair/fur on the mask is of different qualities and lengths in different places on the face and by shearing and mixing you lose the ability to choose what type hair you want, you have more of a mohair or rabbit than mask, imo.

I prefer to pick what I need from different parts of the mask. If you were to harvest all the fur, I would make at least 4 batches with different characteristics.
