Crown vises?

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever used a Crown II vise? I did a search on the forum but came up empty handed. Cabelas sells one along with tools for $69 and it looks like a good vise for me to step up to.

I need a new one that I can tye trout flies on but I don't want a rotary vise.

Any help would be great! cool.gif

I had one and it was great. The only complaint

I have is that the jaws were to big.

Its a great vise if you don't tie many small flies.

I think it only cost me $25.

Hi Glenn,

When I was looking for a vise a while back, I could not find any info on this either. I did see what appears to be the same vise @ Hook and Hackle:

I think you could give them a call, and see what their experience has been with this vise (what they feel the quality is, if they have had any returns). You could certainly call Cabela's too, but I think your chances of actually speaking with someone familiar with the vise may be better at H&H.

For a little more $ in a similar type vise, the Griffen Patriot has gotten really good reviews, One on eBay for $125, you may be able to find one cheaper elsewhere?

Good luck,
