Philly 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2020 They should work, Rick, but you're complicating the pattern. Gartside's Gurgler has three pieces of material. Tail, hackle and foam. I don't really have a good picture of the gurglers, I use Gartside's pattern, but below is top view of the gurglers I tie.

mikemac1 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2020 I've pretty much gone with two layers of 2mm craft foam for my Gurglers. They float extremely well. The softer foam just gets destroyed too quick. Currently in Florida on the Gulf coast and having great early morning success on Speckled Trout with the Florida Hopper/Dropper. I drop a small glass shrimp off the gurgler (which has a rattle). When that gurgler disappears, there is usually a trout hooked up underneath.
Plainsman 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2021 Ok I got some ideas from all of you. Cranked out a few on #8, #6, #2 and a 1/0. Bass ate the one on #2 hook and the brim seem to like the smallest batch. Gonna try the 1/0 in a couple days. IMG_3422.MOV
