American Pheasant Tail Nymph

Hook: Size 16, 2XL

Underbody: .15 pseudo-lead wire

Tail: Pheasant tail

Thorax: Pheasant tail

Ribbing: Copper wire

Abdomen: Peacock

Wing casing: Pheasant tail

Notes: Folding back the tips for the wings is still a bit tricky for me, but I'm getting better. Already have quite a few tied up from a while back, but figured I'd knock out a few more. Can't have enough of them. This fly rarely lets me down, very effective.

Serendipity-1080.jpg

Serendipity

Ross Merigold - Originator

Hook - Curved scud, jig or straight nymph style

Thread - Tan/brown

Body - Brown z-lon or antron yarn, twisted into a rope to provide segmentation

Wing/Head - Deer hair

The original was a brown color and deer hair, but can be tied in red, black, olive or your choice of color

A Google image search will provide optional shapes of how to trim the wing/head area. Use the shape you like the best for your fly

Found this on the Flyflasher site.  Fishable, although I don’t think I did Mr. King’s signature hair style justice with this one

thread - UTC 70 grey brown
rib - Mirage Flashabou opal
abdomen - dubbing claret
thorax - dubbing squirrel (loop dubbed)
