Hackle: Sharp tailed Grouse

Dubbing: Hares ear with zelon

Rib: Sm copper wire

Tail: Woodchuck with guard hair removed

Thread: Danville 6/0 in Tobacco

Hook: Mustad 3407, #2

Thread: Uni-Thread, 6/0, burnt orange

Body: Estaz UV, olive

Ribbing: Hackle, barred ginger

Wing: Bucktail, tan

Flash: Krystal Flash, copper

Legs: Sili-legs, barred brown/gold

Eyes: Mono, 25lb, painted orange

Is it a shrimp? Is a crab? Doesn't matter to a redfish...

Rainbow Warrior

Hook: Hanak H200BL #16

Thread: UTC 70 Fire Orange

Bead:  2.4mm Silver tungsten 

Weight: 5 Wraps of .015 lead

Tail: Dark Pardo cape fibers

Body: Med Mirrage tinsel

Throax: Custom Ice dub mix 

Wing case: Same as body

Well since I have joined this forum I have always found SBPatt Muddler style flies amazing and have wanted to give it a shot. My first attempt I really think that the hair he uses makes a difference. I used some elk hair that I had on hand. Any advice is welcome!

Hook: Dai-Riki #730 size 8

Thread: UTC 140 Black

Tail: Burnt Orange Marabou blood quill 

Rib: Black UTC BR wire

Hackle: Whiting bugger grizzly dyed burnt orange

Body: Hare E’ Ice rusty orange

Head: Elk body hair dyed orange

Hendrickson CDC Biot Dun René Harrop Style

 

René has develop some of my favorite flies to tie and fish.  They are simple and VERY effective.  The little CDC stem outriggers on this pattern are very clever addition that keeps the fly floating upright.
