you keep this up I'll be in my neighbors pasture with scissors😁

It’s amazing how strong it is . I can see it being used for leaders in the past.  We have some tail hair coming off that mustang that

has  the sheen of polar bear and takes markings quite well.  If you would like a few sample hairs I can easily send them your way. Slow

but cheap !

Basics:

GRHE, #14, dyed burnt orange or rust.

Not sure of name of color, as I picked that mask up in a local bait shop that sometimes sells fly fishing stuff on consignment.  Nice color, though.  May make a nice bomber body if mixed with some natural hare's mask.

Always nice to see the great flies everyone posts on here.

Love those little guys, @Sandan

You somehow keep finding a new slant on this fly.  Do you know how many there are so far?

To tell the truth, no. I’ll have to do a count.

One question on all your patterns - were you heavily affected by the space program with the Mercury/Gemini/Apollo re-entries??

Kim

Yes, I love your ties!

Today was hares ear soft hackle day... tied with woodchuck (ex-guard hairs) and sharp tailed grouse. I really like the fine stems on the grouse for smaller soft hackles...

Some really creative flies already provided in this thread, but some days, this fly is all you need.

Wow, that really is beautiful tie. I would appreciate a more detailed recipe if you don't mind.   .
