Now there is a vise you don’t see everyday.  I think the A.K. best McKensie is pretty rare as are the accessories. Nice!

Very cool vise. I have not seen one in person.

Tungsten Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail Nymph

Hook: TMC 5262, size 16

Underbody: .15 pseudo lead

Tail: Pheasant tail

Abdomen: Pheasant tail

Ribbing: Copper wire

Thorax: Peacock hurl

Hackle: Hungarian Partridge

Bead: Tungsten

Notes: Pretty easy and fun tie; very effective to boot. Hermes, as usual, pretty much only likes to be nearby when I'm tying flies. Surprisingly, he's never showed interest in the feathers or any other materials.

Sessions, is the rainbow warrior color for rainbow trout?  Sorry, couldn't resist.  Nice nymph.

Toothy, how big is that fly?  It looks like it would make a good Hex fly in larger sizes.  We have one good Hex hatch in the area that I know of.  It is worth the trip up there and the trip home in the dark!

Hey @DarrellP,

This one is a size 14 but it can be tied in any size and color you like to imitate any mayfly species.  Wish I had a Hex hatch here in CT!

Found a old timers box, would any of you know what fly this is.

Looks like a midge pattern tied in the reverse - cant tell for sure if it's a wire/tube body and herl/dubbed fur head for the specific name of the pattern.  By the lower picture it looks like it's in the top row right and by the size of you thumb looks like it's an 18-22 hook so that also matches a midge size.

@chugbug27 was wondering about thread. So I Google Semperfli to get some info on that 18/0 Spyder thread. Surprise, I ordered some. Anyhow while on the site there's a tab named Inspire Me. It's amazing, chock full of innovative patterns, some oldies but goodies and variations. For @flytire, there's even a Chadwicks 447 sub. I ordered some of that too. Where I'm going is I saw this pattern, a slip wing jingler. This is my attempt

Hook: size 14 dry

Thread: Sheer 14/0 olive

Tail: med Pardo CDL

Body: gray olive superfine

Thorax: BWO superfine

Hackle 1: Whiting dark barred ginger

Hackle 2: Hun
