jcozzz 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2021 I agree having fished with live crickets for bluegills they seldom eat them on the surface ,They prefer them sinking slowly and struggling.Yet they crush tiny poppers and assorted foam bugs.Those uv glass ants are killer silver and FT I am gonna tie and fish some balsa ants.Brings me back to when i learned to tie from books and magazines.A video was vhs,no internet Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
SilverCreek 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2021 I think it has been quite a while since you could buy the McMurray ant bodies. Then you have to paint them. Foam is so much easier and with a cork borer, I can punch out 10 bodies shapes in a minute out of red or black foam. I still have to thread them on mono though and glue them in place with. I can make cinnamon, red, black or combination colored bodies as well. Another way of making these types of bodies is with dimensional fabric paint.
