@DFoster I agree. that 126 proof Booker's does the job. It was about 9 degrees out. A perfect evening for B&B.

@WWKimba I know you didn't say anything bad about the Bourbon. Here's the thing though you don't know you've had "one too many" until after that one. Of course I've heard it argued that there's no such thing as too much good Bourbon. I think it depends on if you've had the "one" or not yet.  As to the memory thing my grandfather, may he rest in peace, called it "turnsta". You know when your mind "turnsta" sh!t.

@Moshup Do you think he'll remember that?

A real basic fly; tied here as a Mother’s Day caddis.  Here’s his  video if you’re interested; as always, I love to watch him tie and listen to his stories but, unfortunately, Boomer isn’t in this one.

hook - WFC Model 3 #12
thread - Danville 6/0 black 
rib - x-small wire silver
body - Ice Dub black
hackle - hen grizzly dyed olive
wing - deer hair

I enjoy tying these on a longer shanked hook with an extra half turn of Partridge.

Thread. ......... Pearsall’s gossamer orange
Body. ......... Australian possum
Ribbing. ......... Fine gold wire
Thorax ......... Ice dub peacock
Hackle. ........ Badger hen hackle

Hook - Mustad S80-3906, S82-3906B or equivalent, size 10-12

Thread - Black

Tail - Brown hackle fibers

Butt - Peacock herl

Ribbing - Fine oval gold tinsel or wire

Body - Black floss or thread

Shoulder - Peacock herl

Reinforce the peacock herl by wrapping it around the tying thread. 

Add a dab of crazy glue to the hook shank before wrapping the herl for added durability.
