Harrop's Last Chance Cripples in.... you guessed it Hendrickson!

Both soft hackled and neck hackled versions

I have always liked the way this pattern fishes when tied with a soft hackle as opposed to  stiff neck or saddle hackle.  it seems to sit in the film better and have more movement. I have tied them with partridge, hen hackle and speckled CDC in the past.  All work beautifully and in my opinion, are more effectively than their stiff hackled counterparts.

Looking thru my boxes, I realized I’m low on these.  I hate to tie more than one of anything unless I have to but I’d be crazy to show up on tailwaters without some so repetition here we come.

hook - BVFT Dry #16
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - pheasant tail
rib - small wire copper
abdomen - pheasant tail
thorax - peacock herl
hackle - hen furnace

Regards,
Scott

Lady Caroline. a little heavy on the hackle, I guess , but my brain was focused on my Bronze Mallard, it’s been a while

This is a fly of my design. Began with claret body and a wrap of guinea. Over the years it has evolved into this. This has produced a great many rainbows and browns.

Rib: Fine gold wire

Body: Irish claret seal dubbing

Body Hackle: Plum claret saddle

Collar: Gray spotted guinea tied dabbler style

I really like how your first 2 to 3 rib wraps are touching near the tail! Very unique.

Some vise therapy this evening. Tied up some small deceivers. I need to get some stick on eyes and UV resin to make 'em look pretty, but they'll fish.

I don't keep records, wish I did! However in dark water for bass, pickerel and panfish, and seeing the dark colors of the fly, I'm not sure eyes will make a diff. Its the Cork that they might object to;-}

Nice presentation. Probably the most therapeutic fly out there to tie.

Absolutely no reason for eyes or gobs of resin on a deceiver other then for pictures. You could always but a dab of paint eyè and cover it with SH. It will look just as nice. Nice tie except I agree with Baron, the cork is going to  cause you to miss that fish of a lifetime.
