Perhaps a small light thorax of hare's mask? Holding off on the hooks until I get to that sweet spot.

danthebugman 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2021 YouTube suggested a video on tying a matuka style fly this morning. After watching it I thought the fly looked kinda cool so I sat down and tried it this evening. Not 100% happy with the result. The tail ended up kind of wonky, but not bad for the first attempt and I don't imagine the fish will care too much.

SBPatt 0 Report post Posted February 22, 2021 Troutlore’s Geehi Beetle A neat Aussie pattern I found here. Used the cree collar because I have an old Collins’ cape I break out every once in a while but doubtful it’s a difference maker; golden badger or barred ginger would probably provide a similar effect and work just as well. hook - WFC Model 4 #10 thread - Veevus 8/0 tan tail - golden pheasant tippet body - peacock herl body hackle - brown (undersize by 2) collar - cree (tip-tied) Regards, Scott
