Nice work. I just posted a Harrop no hackle bwo. I like these for the slow runs when the refusals add up.

Thanks. I'm a big fan of the no hackle dry. Nice job yourself too

I've been tying a bunch of stuff. Working my way slowly through Rene Harrop's "Learning From the Water". Recipes upon request.

I have to say everyone is doing a fantastic job this month.

Gotta love the Harrop patterns! Nice job!  I have really enjoyed reading his books.  In addition to being a very innovative fly tier he is also a gifted writer.

Stimi version of the Dorato’s Hare’s Ear, a vintage Catskill skittering caddis pattern; found it here.   Original called for brown hackle but I though the ginger went well with the woodduck and hare’s ear.

hook - WFC Model 4 #10
thread - Veevus 8/0 tan
tail - deer hair
rib - x-small wire gold
abdomen - dubbing hare’s ear
body hackle - dark ginger (undersize by 1)
wing - woodduck flank
thorax - dubbing hare’s ear
front hackle - grizzly/dark ginger

Regards,
Scott

As simple as it gets: one flank and one pheasant rump feather. The ones for the right fly were shorter, so I got a bit into the fluff.

Huge fan of this fly! Gorgeously proportioned! Id tie a dozen but I fear that they wont look as good as yours!
