An interesting pattern that looked more involved than it turned out to be; check out his SBS https://www.instagram.com/p/B95ELsNBO-X/ and see if you agree.  Again, changed up a few of the materials based on what was within my grasp.

hook - WFC Model 28 #12
thread - Uni 8/0 tan
shuck - Congo Hair brown
rib - Krystal Flash rootbeer
abdomen - turkey biot tan
thorax - Ice Dub tan
wingpad - 1mm foam tan
legs - pronghorn dyed brown (1 Tbs Rit Golden Yellow, 1/4 Tsp Rit Dark Brown/1 cup water)
wing - Congo Hair Shiner Tan

Regards,
Scott

Wally Wing Spinner

Hook: TMC 101, Size 12

Tail: Tan Microfibbits

Abdomen: Stripped Badger Quill

Thorax: Brown dubbing

Wings: Mallard flank

Notes: I am hoping to fish more evenings this season in hopes of catching of spinner falls, so I plan to tie a variety of other spinner patterns as well soon and experiment with what works best.

Nice fly.  Charlie Craven’s Hi-Viz spinner has worked well for me for years; easy to tie, easy to see, floats well, catches fish.

Scott

mike Valla lists a great dubbing recipe in his Catskill Flies book for those having difficulty locating the real deal

Thanks adkfan.   Yes the Tup’s dubbing has been a real nemesis for me and chasing those rams isn’t getting any easier. Recently I was happy to receive some samplings from members on another board which look good and I’m trying out. Very nice of them. ps Have Valla’s book and I love it.
