Very nice. Was looking for a pre-spawn soft hackle to tie for Gills and this ay be it.

Great looking flies again this month everyone!  This simple buggy Baetis pattern fooled a lot of stocked Brook trout last April.   I'm looking forward to trying it on another river with native brookies.

 

GREEN BUGGY BAETIS NYMPH

HOOK: #14 NYMPH WITH BLACK 1/8” TUNGSTEN BEAD

Congrats on the repairs.  I had it done last year and I'm glad I did it.  At PT I never said no to anything they asked me to do until that faithful day my PT assistant said "we're going to do something new today."  She then turns her back to me, and I swear she put her hand behind her back and scratched the back of her neck.  She turned back around and says "OK, ready?"  I said "no,  I'm not doing that.  Even when I was you age I couldn't do that, I doubt I can do that now".  She laughed...  I did give it a solid try though.

The Cahill Quill tied Catskill Heritage Style. 

Hook. Bergman Gold Label size 14.

Silk. Pearsalls gossamer Primrose.

Wing. Wood duck.

Tail. Light ginger.

Body. Stripped Peacock quill. From a dead peacock I found in 1964.

Hackle and tail. Light ginger from an ancient Indian  light ginger neck.

Cement. Marine spar varnish on the head and coating the body.
