@Sandan.   Very nice lot of flies. Too small for me though. If I can’t catch em on a sz 20 I say to hell with em.  Clean my

vise yesterday and now it’s all sparkly.  😎

I'm a beginner tier from Sweden, here are some of the best ones I made.  I made 40 so far.

First is my newest. It's my spice hatcher. (made out of spice)

8 size hook maybe.

Body is foam from a yoga mat and texture is spices with glue.

Some deer hair for legs and a feather for hackle and little gray dubbing.

I'm so new I don't even know what kind of bug this is, if it's a hatcher mayfly or something else. Pls let me know, i only seen others do similar thing so made one.

First Myggan welcome to the site and thank you for posting your flies. Your spice fly looks like a cased caddis to me and I find it a fresh idea to use spices glued to foam, like a kanelbulle for fish, very innovative. All of your flies will catch fish and I am sure you will continue to improve your style and your fly patterns.  Do you fish rivers or the coast?

@Moshup, thank you. Of course you know a sparkly vise is a happy vice.

As to the 20 thing, Last time on the San Juan I pulled this guy out. If I remember correctly it was on either a size 22 or 24, no bigger than 22 midge of some sort. The story is I had her on and some guide stopped his boat to show his clients how a real fisherman went about it. After the fish jumped out of my hands he scooped it up for me. It taped out at 25"+

Nice fish-well done!  My father in law remembers seeing a fly fishing club on a river in Maine.  Some of theme actually had patches that read 20/20 club indicating they had landed a 20" trout on a size 20 or smaller.

@DFoster, Thank you. The 20/20 club, I like it.  Nice caddis too. There's something about biots that just screams buggy goodness.

Thanks for the welcome! :)

If the fish bite hard it will give them a little goody taste, I used some barbecue spice but will definitely try some cinnamon for kanelbulle taste! I'm sure the color will be really good too!

I took a look into Entomology on caddis and found the several species in my local waters.

It's my favorite insect now! I find it hilarious that those little bugs build their own little shell that they drag around and live in.

I fish in lakes, creeks and rivers. I used lures in the past but this year I'm going to learn fly fishing, that is why I started tying flies.

I also made a green pair of shells out of some green spices Oregano, Körvel and uv glue. Have not made the insect yet for them.

Maybe Akvavit instead of UV glue?

Tried my hand at an EP Minnow tonight. Not my favorite fly to tie. I have super glue all over my fingers from trying to get the eyes on 😒.
