Noahguide 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2021 13 hours ago, flytire said: cool use on the drill chuck vise holder 👍👍 Thanks, idea based totally on FliesbyNight's lovely roll top desk set up found here. My set up was discussed further down the thread. I have a second that I am either going to permanently mount to the table surface, and/or mount as a bobbin holder/gallows tool to the right out of the way. I like the way it holds, far more securely than the set screws on my other bases.
RexW 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2021 Found time to start restocking my give away fly box. I give these flies away to my casting class students. Some events are starting to happen and it is good to see this box empty once again. It'll take another dozen to fill the box. The fly is called "Dale's Psychedelic Spider" and just has foam, pearl chenille, and rubber legs tied on a size 10 3366 hook. It's easy to cast and Bluegill love them. Best way to teach someone to fly fish, especially a young'un, in my opinion, is to go down to the local lake and tie on one of these. They'll be having so much fun they won't know they're learning something.

SBPatt 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2021 Sparkle Spundun Wings on traditional Sparkle Duns are problematic for me (actually, they suck); these I get right more often than not.
