First attempt with an aftershaft shoulder left a lot to be desired; much happier with the oversized hen.  Need to try this one on the water before I decide if the hackle needs trimming out underneath

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - Uni 6/0 rusty dun
tail - deer hair
body - Ice Dub hare’s ear
wing - Congo Hair white
collar/thorax - deer hair
shoulder - hen grizzly/brown

Regards,
Scott

Claret Montreal, I tied another to make sure to put the hackle in-front of the wing this time. Got to work on my bodies and tapering. Tied on Alec Jackson steelhead irons, size 5.

Hackle. Brownish sparrow from where the body meets the wing.

Last night's Bugs and Bourbon. Half dozen of one almost six of others. Recipes? We don't need no stinkin' recipes. Caddis, pink Albert's and an extended body blue wing.

I had one quill left, the last quill picked,  so I tied something I think I will be able to see.
