Francis

The name makes me chuckle.  Guy's name is Francis Francis, he creates a fly and calls it the Francis fly.  Makes me wonder what his children and pets were named.

Nice tie, flytire. Have you ever fished that pattern?  I have one sitting on one of my hats and always forget to use it.

Very nice, Chasing_Tails.  Almost qualifies as a "realistic".

That is a thing of beauty! How long did that take to tie?

It is actually a very simple pattern to tie. 5-10 minutes.

Spin-n-glo:

Hook: Mustad 3407, #2/0

Thread: Danville 3/0, chartreuse

Tail: Marabou, Chartreuse with Krystal Flash, Chartreuse

Tail extension: Stainless leader wire, 278lb

Spin-n-glo, Chartreuse with glass bead bushings

Still working on ideas for a fly to have the topwater action similar to the Whopper Plopper. I was on a business trip to the pacific northwest earlier this month and hit up Sportsman's Warehouse for some spin-n-glo's to try. Early testing shows a bit less commotion than the propeller version, but I think it may still be a winner.
