SBPatt 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2021 Similar to the Michigan-body style but a bit simpler. hook - WFC Model 6 #8 thread - Danville 6/0 brown tail - deer hair rib - tying thread body/thorax - deer hair shoulder - hen grizzly head/collar - deer hair Mash barb; start thread at 2/3 mark, wrap to bend Clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of deer hair Tie in with 2 soft loops on top of shank, pull tight, maintain pinch to keep hair from spinning; take a few wraps through butts, locking hair in place Return thread to 2/3 mark, pull butts forward and tie down Pull tight, flaring butts; spiral wrap to tail, and back Trim butts Tie in (folded) hackle by tip in front of thorax; wrap, tie off/trim Clean, stack, measure (tips to bend here, but length is entirely up to you) Tie in with 2 soft loops, trim butts even with hook eye, spin Half hitch x 2, SHHAN, trim head to desired shape (Ryan Houston style used here) Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
