SalarMan 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2021 Never tied this pattern before so I thought I'd give it a go...and it is the first classic I've tied in something like 6 months so there is definitely some rust showing. I will add that as always the fly in the photo is in the unpreened state. I'll do some additional work to spruce it up a bit before mounting it in a box. The fly is tied on a Ronn Lucas, Sr. hook, model Nobel DS size 4/0. The underwing calls for Golden Pheasant breast feathers, but I substituted hackle feathers dyed burnt orange simply because the breast feathers off that bird are...to be blunt...a royal pain in the ass to work with😁 Thanks for looking and please feel free to comment.
