skeet3t 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2021 I was browsing through some of the things for the elk at Cataloochee in NC and clicked on the trout regulations for the park. I was anticipating a trip to Sam's Creek later t his year and found a bunch of streams were closed due to the fragile brook trout population. "Guided" on Sam's Creek several years ago at Tennessee's Trout Camp. Have to look for some other places.🙁
vicrider 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2021 "Fragile brook trout population"? Is it a special situation due to the crazy weather patterns around the country this year? Between heat and flooding things are a mess this summer so far in the south and the west with lot closures for water temps and low water and flooded conditions and now fire season starting. Things will not be getting better either so we better learn to take advantage of what we can since every year will be different.
skeet3t 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2021 It didn't say anything about detrimental conditions but had a long list of streams closed to fishing. The closed streams were feeders into bigger streams. Tried to find the list but, as usual, couldn't find the list.
