Very nice, TS - lovely color on that feather. Is a California valley quail the same as Chukar?   If so, where on the skin did you get that feather?

No, Chukar are old world birds introduced into the Americas.  The California Valley Quail is most closely related to the Gambel's Quail. This feather came from the back near the neck.
