November Flies From The Vise

The Black Quill Dun from Trout Flies Naturals and Imitations by Charles Wetzel.

This flies features a wing made from Coot  primaries that has been folded 3x and then split creating a double wing.

Hook - Mustad 9671, 9672 or equivalent

Thread - Black or brown

Tail - Brown goose biots

Body - 2 tan and 1 brown ultra wire twisted into a rope

Legs - Brown hackle

Thorax - Sun yellow uni yarn

This fly is tied in the style of "In the Round"

After those pictures of dozens of dozens of flies that "upnorthtier" posted, I figured I'd show the mass of flies I tied yesterday.  

I figure I'm good to go for the rest of this year, even given ten or so trips between now and then.

This is a pattern that is a copy of a lucas Lonegren fly that I liked. Sorry don’t know it’s name.

Thread. ……. Veevus 14/0. Lime green
Hook. ……. Alec Jackson soft hackle sz 13
Body. …… Veevus fine pearl mylar wrapped over Veevus lime green thread
Thorax. ….. Caddis green ice dub
Hackle. ….. Grey partridge
