KrakenFly 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2021 Have been working on filling a number of boxes with trout flies for commissioned holiday orders, but finally had a brief reprieve to tie something a bit more fun! Bronze Pirate from Kelson's Blue Boyne Set. Tied on a size #2 japanned hook I made. Substituted the Toucan tail for CDC I dyed to match. Tied the body veilings in first and then wound the tinsels through in one shot. Tricky little fly to tie, and also to photograph! The iridescence of Monal feathers is impossible do justice in a picture! Cheers, All! -Connor

flykid 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2021 Well done! I've never tied this one. Looks like your method for tying the veilings in first then completing the body worked nicely. The hook looks good too! Thanks for sharing!
