Government's doing all it can to get prices and inflation going through the roof.  The more we can't afford, the more people will rely on gov. hand-outs to get by.

mikechell, people don't have to rely on handouts. There are signs all over town with "Now Hiring" in the front lawn, doors, etc. Signs are in English and Spanish. Many state the starting pay with sign-on bonuses, benefits from day one, etc. Some jobs are starting at up to $17-20 per hour! A new Wendy's opened down the road. The wife and I stopped to get our Frosty fix at the drive-through as the dining area was closed. The manager gave us our order. We asked when the dining area would open. She didn't know as they couldn't get people to work!

I'd like to comment but I would be banned for being too political.

Inflation is caused by too much money chasing too few goods.

Too few goods is the result of Covid, with the loss of truckers and dock workers resulting in clogged shipping ports.

Too much money is the result of the Federal gov't pumping $3.5 trillion in covid relief payments into our economy.

Here is a real time calculation of our national debt.

6.6% increase in my pension this year. That’s more in one year than the aggregate of my first 6 years of retirement. Things are really bad and getting worse. It’s high time my kids get to see the results of their voting record, however that may have been.

I am now paying $20.50 for the exact same 10' 2" section of PVC for shipping rods in which I was paying $7.50 for just a year ago. Believe me I would love to unload my views on the way things are going in the country right now, but then I'd have to ban myself 😆 Sorry but just a matter of time till a topic like this gets way too political. We all know the road this is going to go down so going to axe this one before it gets there.
