Any fluorocarbon tippet should work well. Frog Hair comes to mind...

You're forever doomed now. Welcome to the cuckoo's nest!
-
A furled leader is more forgiving, especially where wind knots are concerned, and with a micro swivel or ring at the end of the leader, it allows you to change only the tippet as opposed to the entire leader.

I had an 18" monster take a close look at my fly. He was there, waving his white-bordered fins... and then he was gone. Good cardio workout! Center Pond, between Dexter and Dover Foxcroft, Maine

Sculpin heads on small, medium or large articulated shanks offer endless possibilities. I've tied them with siwash hooks in tandem and as stingers, or a combo of siwash as the main hook and a small treble stinger. Lethal stuff!

I moved my fly tying desk and shelves into a small pre-fab garden shed I bought at a farmer's market. I insulated it for heating/cooling, put in a carpet, spotlights, mini fridge, tv, internet. Works perfectly!

I know what you mean about the kids and cats. My cats got ahold of a grizzly hackle cape and stripped all of the feathers off. Luckily i was able to salvage most of it. The desk sounds cool. Would love to get some pics
I'd be making me some cat dubbing if that happened to me

Bead-head flashback pheasant tail nymphs in sizes 14 to 18.

Looking down on the fly is the easiest angle for me to comfortably turn and inspect my work as I tie. Also, I don't think looking up at a light source in the background is a good idea.
-
So I have been gifted (cursed?)with some 28 and 32 dry fly hooks any suggestions on what to tie on them?
Obviously deer hair bugs and poppers are out and seeing as the smallest I have tied to date is a 22 this ought to be interesting to say the least.
Chironomids. Sulky glitter thread in size 21 for a tapered body, a few overlapping wraps to form the head and ostrich herl fibers for gills. Get 'em down with a micro split shot..

Nice! Check out Davie McPhail's version on Youtube too.

Hmmm, I'm gonna figure that out how they did that.
What an incredible site....Bookmark...chaching
With a 10 mega-pix camera set on auto, mounted on a mini tripod and a hair dryer on variable speeds

Nice! They should post the recipes on there too!

Hi cdoug,
Rainbows love peacock herl! The more the better!
Regards,
Mark
Yep! There's something about peacock herl that rainbow trout find irresistible!

Fly Tyers Dungeon has a lot of what you're looking for on the cheap. Good quality too.

To keep the hair closer to the shank, I've experimented with mixed hair in a small hair stacker.
Trolling Mickey Finn/ Black Nose Dace hybrids in sizes 6 and 4 made with bucktail, elk hair, calf tail, synthetic hair and flash provided outstanding results. ~ forty brook trout were caught and released on a day.
Perhaps the key to a successful streamer is "less is more" as far as the amount of material you use; I recall one fly being hit so many times that it had exactly nine hairs left (I counted) and it was still being attacked over and over again compared to a bulkier fly in the same pattern a friend was using. Which makes me think that much has to do with a silver mylar body with a short red yarn butt ribbed with silver oval tinsel... and painted on eyes... and trolling speed... and the mood the trout are in!

Try this one:

That's beautiful! I wonder if more of the other body feathers aren't used. Looks like some really nice barred feathers on the shoulder and saddle back.
Kirk
Besides the iridescent swords, the biots from the primary feathers are an unreal dark rusty-orange color; the closest I can get to describing it is 'Gothic punk rusty orange! Makes for killer wings and tails on Copper Johns

Increase your odds of hooking up with a big brown by using a bead-head pheasant tail flashback nymph tied on a size 14 scud hook. Now I'm gonna have to kill you... Ha Ha! Just kidding Good luck!
