American born(Anacortes, Washington) many moons ago now living in northwest england(Altrincham, Cheshire). First fished in South Dakota in 1950. Introduced to fly fishing in 1955 by late friend Louis Davis. Taught myself to tie flies at age fourteen, but didn't fly fish for trout till 1968 in eastern Washington. Had a long break from any fishing from 1981-2007(1979 actually after all my gear was stolen, but I did fish in the USA on a visit to introduce my kids to my family over there). With retirement looming went back in a big way, but just before works colleague who took me out a lot emigrated to BC, Canada and as I don't drive and am too long in the tooth now to go back to it I rarely get the chance to get out unless some kind hearted generous angler would be interested in a fishing partner who won't try to bore him too much!
