Hi Claudia.....i'm glad you like the fly, but it was really just a practice fly.....i just finished two more in the last few hours.......one with a Red MoHair body and one with a Hot Green Wire and Sky Blue Estaz body.....the one with the Red MoHair also has a Red Mallard tail and a Red Mallard collar, with a Red Head.....the one with the Wire&Estaz body, has a Blue Hackle Collar w/ a natural Teal over collar and a dyed Purple Peacock Herl wing. i wish i had time to post them.......but maybe when i get back from up north. We still have one more day here............leaving Mon. Thank you for the sweet words. You make me happy. mark.....

hope i did this right........here's two (sposed to be) "different" pics of the same fly......so you can see it with different light....... basically just a practice fly........tryin' out this new thread..........that is a pretty heavy gauge and a lot like silk rope........beautiful stuff......... Claudia wanted to see it..........not my best work, as i had had two shots of Vodak and it's was bout 5:30 a.m. and my eyes were shot. The tag tinsel started to come apart, (seperate).....VERY fragil stuff.......body got just a bit askue in a spot or two......and i think the hackle might not be as tight to the ribbin' as i like..........but it was lotta fun "practicing" ........... All three Ray..... or some portion thereof............. i'm gonna get it altogether next year............... :hyst: and all good things come to those............... i'm just hardly ever home long enough to do anything but tye a few, blow leaves, mop floors, do laundry, pay bills, go over mail........and put my ass in the wind again. We're headed north again.....day after tomorrow.....three more shows and the 30 events for this year are finished............................damn, and none to soon...............WHEW! Today i spent a few hours down in the tyin' room, rearrangin' furniture, and hangin' rods in different places and movin' this and replacin' that.........i hadda switch it up a bit to make room for this big huge cabinet i'm puttin' in down there to display flies in. It wouldn't fit the place i had reserved for it......so i hadda improvise somethin' new. No biggie at all actually.......i think i like the changes better now anyway.......got the floor all clean too. When you come over during Sowbug........you'll WIG! It's gonna be kickin' BUTT by then. This puppy's freash outta the vise...............and i aploigize for the lousey pic..........again. i GOT to get this pic taken **** together. there's three different "Vintage" tinsels on this puppy..........tag is a fine gold oval.......and the rib is a pretty wide flat, segmented copper, follwed by a very shinny flashy thin embosed copper. The ribbing actually KILLS.........but you'd never know it because of the lousey pic. The tail is Kori veiled with Barred Woddy, "mixed" and the wing is actually bout 6 different colors of dyed turkey from Jens, "Mangeld" :hyst: .........i figured since everyne has been doin' Fall Season themed flies..............why not............ The Schllapen for the collar is a KILLER shade of Orange...........and i tried, (in my own wacked out humble way) to keep the damn thing as antiquish lookin' as i could...........because of the hook............course i aint much for antiques.............rather drive the "Newest" model.................you dig? i even used the "antique stained Japanese gut" to keep that old look.......and i did not dye the eye, like i usually do on most of my flies..... The hook is a 6/0 very very old hook i got at a local Antique Tackle shop. It's actually taperd but has a kinna knob at the end of it.....it's round from where the taper begins to where the eye "would be".....and flat from where the taper begins, on back. Just a totally cool hook, (forged) with a real cool bend/barb/point. Easy, mark.....

i was "reading all about it" on the MSN home page..........saw where it said some had 47 inches.........but 52! The 6 larger ones are 6/0 and the 2 smaller one are 4/0 i think........not sure, perhaps 3/0.......they look to be bout two sizes smaller. I tyed a fly on one of the smallers ones........look for it in just a few minutes...........putting it up now. mark..... .....go to the "Antique Spey" post......
