bowman - NOT!!! Big Daddy Here! (THANK GOD!!!) cool.gif

When you say 'to' a desk-top tripod, the picture of any tripod is clear enough, but are you suggesting a small photography tripod or something else??? Thanks.

you ever try to line the clamp with felt or them pads to put on the bottom of stuff so it doesn't scratch tabletops? might be the cheapest and easiest way to go.

all of the above.

Craft stores have fine soft felt sheets, heavier rigid felt sheet, neoprene cork and other things that you can bed both faces of your AA clamp with.

Only one way to mount your AA vise stem comes to mind - if you could thread a small portion of the stem to fit a female threaded collar that mounted on the photo pedestal. Otherwise, I'd go with the cork or heavy felt pads on your AA clamp.

Felt or foam works pretty good. I used some closed cell foam from my tying supply for padding on a vice. Super slick. cool.gif
