Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Sure it has a head but buy the time you see it it's to late your history. these animals are meat eaters and thay have been known to kill grizzly bears. OSD.
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 If that`s the case, why don`t they get the local wildlife people to get it before it reproduces. Prolly someone had it as a pet, but didn`t want it anymore so they let it go. Hopefully that`s the case, and if so, the local wildlife people can just get it. If not, yall are screwed, and I won`t be headin up there fishin. Yall can come down here and get in a boat. lol. Tight lines and good tyin!-redneck
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 They think it came in from Canada in a garbage truck (Canada ships alot of garbage over the border to Michigan) There protecting it with a new Law (untill it takes out some kid waiting for his school bus)
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Red I am suprised at you. Just because something can kill a bear doesnt mean you have to make it extinct. I think it would be fantastic if the wolverine was to reestablish itself in michigan. John

Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 I think it will find enough to eat without going after young kids and family pets (I hope)
Bryanfly15 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Hey OSD, maybe you can catch it and train it to be like a guard dog and have it guard your house. Sounds like a plan to me.
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 My fear is that now that everyone knows about it they will be tromping around looking for it making it's life a living hell. Let's put a mate out there for and hope it procreates on it's own. Hopefully they put provisions in the law that make allowances for too many of them. It's nice to know they are out there but we don't want a wolf problem.
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 may be showing my ignorance here, fellas, but I thought MI still had a protected population of wolverines that was thriving in the UP....? Am I mistaken? Jsut curious
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 I'm sure the animal will be fine as long as he gets plenty to eat, but wolverine have a 1000 Square mile range so I'm keeping my dogs in just in case. OSD.
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Yes BDH you are mistaken the last wolverine sighting in Michigan was pre-1900 OSD.
