trouterguy 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Hey Guys. I was given a caddis patern and I can only figure out 2 of 3 materials on the fly. I know the fly is tyed with clear mono, and the there is some peacock hearl pulled up the length of the hook (paralell to the shank) and the thorax is also peacock hearl, the body is a shiny green material not chenile. Any suggestions what else the body material could be. Also not important but it is tyed on a #8 scud hook.

cruncher 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Without a pic, it'd be quite difficult to identify anything. There are a lot of materials that could fit that description. It could be ice dub or some other dubbing, vernille, mcnitron, sparkle braid, etc. If you're tring to take the pic indoors and running into exposure problems, the only alternative is to get the fly outside in natural sunlight and try again.
