letumgo 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 Excellent pattern, Rex! I love the coloration of this fly and the way you have dubbed the body. That hook is great.
Soft-hackle 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 Super nice, Rex. It looks as if it is a deadly combination of materials. Mark
Fred H. 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2008 Great fly Rex.We don't use to much dubbing down here so I've always shied away from it. I can't even imagine how you got the rib in there without messing up the dubbing.Did you run them together or did you tease the dubbing back out after youran the rib? RexHunt 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2008 Thanks for compliments. Fred my english isn't good but I try to answer on your question. First I tie hackle, next tail and then I tear off mallard down from the feather. You have then mallard down/fluff with soft bristle feather (I don't know if bristle is a good word I meant the hard base off feather) and I catch by tread around the hook and I cut off the bristle next I repeated the same operation with naxt mallard down. Later I used the wire. Finally I used needle next I make head and completed fly. I hope that you understand anything from it.
