j8000 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2018 I have bought several glass rods at garage sales for 10 to 20 bucks in great condition. Finding reels are harder, but when I do, there is usually line on it and half the time the line is still in very good condition, so not knowing the weights, I used to just try the line and rod combinations in the back yard until I could hit 40 to 50 feet regularly and call it good.
