So when we going fishing

Recommended Posts

Just wondering when we're going fishing. Since it seems like there are a goodly number of Cape Cod anglers here.

I've been a few times - mostly to keep the rust out of the casting arm.

Yesterday I caught a starfish....jealous???

Quit dragging the bottom. ohmy.gif

I'd like to see a lot more of the Cape area guys on here; more of the Northeast salt guys, and I'm working on getting some of them to give us a look and throw in.

Promised Mr. Fix I'd try and post more:

a little too early to start fishing just yet....but managed to dig out much of the snow/ice bank from around the boat today -- got her off the blocks on back on the wheels...another 2 weeks and she'll be getting summerized (new electronics this year)...first arrivals should be off the Cape in another month or so.

But I'll likely fish Rhode Island before then...

I also promised to post more. A few months ago, deluded by the mild weather so far, I predicted that my first bass would be on 3/19. I should have known better than to use a crystal ball from a Cracker Jacks box! My boat still isn`t back from the repair shop where I left it in Nov., never should have said " No rush". And my new boat is still in the Catskills under 4 ft. of snow! I guess this will be the first year in a long time with no stripes in March.

I will hit the Salt on May 1 . This year things could be a little late. It's all about water temp. When the temp is close to 50 the stripers are in. Mid to high forties the scouts start arriving. FishHawk

I will be fishing the Bass River and a couple other mid-cape estuaries by mid-April looking for holdover Stripers. That will become more serioius once the Alewife start coming into the runs down here.

interesting. maybe I'll give it ago one of these days...Until I get a rod with a little more muscle, I'm inclinded to start off with schoolies. Could someone maybe point me in the right direction(where to fish?), some flies, and a time period?

Cheers
