Guest Report post Posted February 20, 2004 I'm sure there are a lot you fellow tiers who , like myself, like to cut your own zonker strips. Well, here is an easy way to cut perfect zonkers everytime. Take a piece of the skin, hair side down and place it under the clip of a clipboard. Use the edge of the clip to cut your strips the perfect width everytime! To do this effeciently, you will need a thin, sharp blade, such as a razor blade, Exacto, or similiar blade. When cutting any fur strips, pull the strip down slightly as you cut so you do not unnecessarily cut away the fur/hair itself. This technique works great for Mylar, plastic bug backs, suede, chamios, leather, and Bug Skin, which is available from Will Mullis at a great price!! Using the clipboard method is a great and easy way to get perfect, custom cut zonkers everytime....Works great for crosscuts, too!!! Tight Lines and Purple Sunsets!!
