  1. Well, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Doug Christen, I like romantic walks down moonlit beaches and....wait...errrrrr.... Wrong forum...LOL Anyway, I live in beautiful Southern Oregon and have the Rogue River and Lost Creek lake right in my back yard. The Rogue River is revered for it's salmon and trout fishing. My buddy got me involved in fly tying 2 weeks ago. I've always wanted to try it, so he brought me over and we got tanked up on some Mt. Dew... Jitters and fly tying don't go together...haha. I took right onto it... My buddy said I'm a natural! So we tied about 10 flies in a 4 hour period, from simple salmon egg style to some of my own creation. One of them resembles a Salmon Fly. Not bad for a beginner. So, for my birthday Saturday, all my friends band together and buy me a bunch of fly tying supplies. My wife bought me a whole kit in an oak box.... Beautiful. Don't mind the old geezer...LOL So Here I am tying one with the new kit. And the almost finished product... This is before the final trim. I don't know what happened at the hooks eye? All my other ones are nice and neat. Oh well, this is the only picture so far. I'll post some later. Doug in Oregon
