Swapped out the guinea tail/beard for Mearns quail and the gathered pheasant tail wing (not a huge fan) for pheasant rump, which is a bit more durable. hook - Mustad 79580 #6 thread - Danville 6/0 black tail - Mearns quail rib - large tinsel gold body - Ice Dub Harder's Bloody Black beard - Mearn's quail wing - pheasant rump mash barb, start thread strip off some quail fibers, measure (gap width past bend); tie in/trim tie in rib dub thread/dub tapered body rib body; tie off/trim tie in quail by tip; wrap, tie off/trim stroke fibers down/back, cover with thread wraps measure (halfway point on the tail) a pheasant rump feather tie in/trim, whip finish, SHHAN (2 coats) Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
