SBPatt 0 Report post Posted July 29, 2018 A few changes to the back end of Bram Van Houten's Deer Hair Emerger. hook Dai Riki 135 #14 thread - MFC 8/0 sand underbody - medium tinsel opal rib - turkey biot callibaetis shellback - 1mm foam tan hackle - Mearn's quail (any well-marked feather works) wing - deer hair thorax - CdC tan mash barb, start thread, wrap halfway down the bend tie in biot, notch-side up tie in tinsel; wrap to 2/3 mark, tie off/trm rib body in open wraps, allowing tinsel to show thru; tie off/trim tie in foam strip tie in quail by tip; take a few wraps at base of foam, tie off/trim clean, stack, measure (gap width past bend) a clump of deer hair; trim to length, tie in make a thread loop insert CdC in clip, trim butts insert in loop, spin wrap CdC, stroking fibers back; tie off/trim pull foam forward, dividing deer hair/CdC trim foam, whip finish, SHHAN Regards, Scott Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
