letumgo 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 A new addition to the fly pattern database has been submitted by letumgo: Steelhead "POP" Series (Soft Hackle Conversion)
letumgo 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2009 This is a conversion of my "POP" series soft hackle flies into a steelhead fly. I have included close-up photos of each of the colors in the pattern database. Obviously you could use any color of the rainbow for the back part of the fly. All of these are tyed with Fly Tyer's Dungeon "Baby Bug Wrap", instead of floss or silk. I just love the look of this material when it is wrapped over a tinsel underbody. The light bounces back off the tinsel and makes look really cool. It kind of gleams. On one of the flies I substituted Coq De Leon feather for the partridge hackle. It gives a longer hackle and is a nice looking substitute. I hope to swing these in the near future.
Guest Report post Posted October 25, 2009 Very nice Ray, I like the fact you are thinking outside the box with the materials you're using here.
