I did some experimenting with this fly.
I tyed it on a larger hook,and tyed the
body in a orangish color to imitate an
october caddis.On the rogue river near
grants pass,last week i caught a 28
and 26 inch steelhead using this pattern.

the blue and yellow birds are indian ringneck parrots
of which i also have albinos these colors are color mutations
the normal color of these birds is green.
the orange ,yellow and green bird is a sun conure and that is the normal color for that bird
we have a couple of pairs of each of these birds.
and each spring hand feed babies from each pair.

not sure if this is what you are looking for ,but david mcneese has a fly
called the bronze brads brat.you can fined it in john sheweys book
steelhead flies on page 185

been using a norvise retractable bobbin since i started tying
i cant seem to get the hang of using normal ones....
