    In the last 2 swaps I have hosted there problems with packages sent from Canada to the US. One package did not arrive and the other was Higraded for the flies and the cash for the return postage. While the first package could be explained in any number of ways, it was pretty obvious what the problem was with the second. It was one of the self sealing envelopes and the customs tag indicated the contents. Who ever it was simply opened the envelope and resealed it.

     

    I would recommend you seal the flap with tape before sending all your packages. The extra effort required to open it and the obvious damage would discourage pilfering.

    To All:

     

    I am back!?!?

    We stayed an extra couple of days. (30 -35 hits a day will do that, especially if a small fish is 16" and a big one might go 28 or 29")

    I am sorry o report that the border isn't so transparent as it once appeared. Justin Davis sent in his flies airmail and someone stole the flies and the couple of bucks he sent for postage. :wallbash: :dunno: The last swap I hosted had a package that didn't get here at all. So we are down to 9 tiers. I will send JD a package since he did go through all the trouble and anguish of getting his ties done and sent. I will use some of the extra bugs we tied and I will add the others to your envelopes as well.

     

    You sent in some damn fine bugs and I thank all of you who stayed the course and finished the swap.

    I look forward to seeing you and your work again.

     

    I had a bunch of things to take handle and the flies will hit the mail tomorrow.

    I managed to get to a computer. There were no flies in the box today. I did PM the MIA's and unfortunately 2 have replied and stayed in that column.

    I will get the stuff done when I get back.

     

    Here is one from last year and shots of the box my club gave away. I am the outings chair and I fish with the old outings chair. He started tying when he was 8. We just celebrated birthday #73!!! He is a cross between Johnny Appleseed and Santa Clause, where ever he goes he leaves a trail of flies and friends, especially if there are kids involved. If you look close, can you find the fly that switched sides??? :bugeyes:

    Well there's some good news and some other news.

    We are down to 2 sets still coming. And there are some pretty nice stones in this batch.

    However I am leaving tomorrow to go to one of the great stillwaters in BC, Roche Lake. I wont be back until the 19th. With all the packing and final preparations I'm not very hopeful that I will get these in the mail. I will post you and let you know.

    Here is an update on the swap. I have received contacts for all the swappers and we have 5 sets in the mail and 3 who have withdrawn. When I get all the stones, I will spread the wealth and try and mail them by the weekend. There are several sets coming from across the border.

     

    There are some very nice flies in this mix and I want to thank all who put in the effort. :thumbsup: :thumbup: :thumbsup:

    I got flies today from Fliesandfish. Very nice tie. I can see using it as a dropper under some type of foam fly.

     

    There are 3 sets still out. Student4evr's are either in the mail, or will be soon. I need to hear from Matt W and Willhunsaker about the status of your flies, please.

    Mine are set to go but could you confirm your Addy for me. I have an envelope I used in the last swap but it looks like someone crossed out the addy I used.

    If you get this to me this morning(West Coast) I can still hit the mail.
